MDM Integration Engineer

Position Overview:

This role will act as technical lead and subject-matter expert for MDM design, configuration, and architecture across SMG3 customers’ device fleet with an enhanced focus on SOTI. Reporting to the Sr. Solutions Architect, this resource will standardize device configuration and deployment, serve as the top technical escalation point, and drive fleet visibility through reporting. The role blends hands-on device configuration with platform architecture, pre-sales support, and team training.

Responsibilities

Standardization & Configuration

  • Cut configuration time and increase batch throughput on SOTI by optimizing profiles, templates, and staging processes with Zebra and Honeywell devices.
  • Build and maintain profile/template best practices that account for department-specific needs (e.g., loud vs. silent alert settings) and evolving application requirements.
  • Be willing to work hands-on with device configuration and staging, including on-the-ground support when needed.

Deployment & Platform Architecture

  • Design and lead complex customer deployments, upgrades, and migrations end-to-end for both verticals (healthcare/industrial).
  • Support scoping, demos, and First Look trials — building demo environments that closely mirror the customer’s actual environment.
  • Partner on pre-sales platform architecture, drawing on clinical workflow knowledge to align solutions with customer environments; customizing existing templates and documentation (configuration guides, QC guides) based on the applications the customer needs.

Technical Escalation & Vendor Relationship

  • Serve as the top internal technical escalation point for issues.
  • Own root cause investigation and lead the direct working relationship with technology support on open questions and issues with the assistance of the VP of Partnerships.

Reporting & Fleet Health

  • Lead reporting efforts, identifying the key data fields that give customers a clear, proactive view of fleet health.
  • Explore the data to surface new insights and help shape what fleet reporting looks like going forward.
  • Provide technical expertise to support data processing and data quality.

Team Support

  • Act as the team’s SOTI subject-matter expert.
  • Lead testing of new technology features as the platform evolves and train the team on new standards and capabilities.
  • Maintain runbooks and build guides to keep team practices current and consistent.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on expertise with SOTI, with a track record of measurably reducing device configuration time and improving batch/staging throughput.
  • Experience building and maintaining device profiles and templates, including examples of best practices applied in a live environment.
  • Familiarity with Zebra and Honeywell device tools and configuration workflows.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and how device configuration and MDM decisions affect frontline clinical staff; healthcare/clinical environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales activities (scoping, demos, and trials) including building out demo environments aligned to a prospective customer’s setup.
  • Comfortable owning technical escalations and managing relationships with a platform vendor’s support organization.
  • Experience with, or strong aptitude for, fleet health reporting — able to identify meaningful data fields and turn raw device data into proactive insights.
  • Ability to train and mentor teammates and to maintain clear runbooks/build guides.
  • Familiarity with competing MDM/UEM platforms (e.g., Omnissa Workspace ONE) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel on-site to HQ and customer sites, as needed.
